Neuro-Fuzzy and Soft Computing: A Computational Approach to Learning and Machine Intelligence by Jyh-Shing Roger Jang, Neuro-Fuzzy and Soft Computing provides the first comprehensive treatment of the constituent methodologies underlying neuro-fuzzy and soft computing, an evolving branch of computational intelligence. The constituent methodologies include fuzzy set theory, neural networks, data clustering techniques, and several stochastic optimization methods that do not require gradient information. In particular, the authors put equal emphasis on theoretical aspects of covered methodologies, as well as empirical observations and verifications of various applications in practice. The book is well suited for use as a text for courses on computational intelligence and as a single reference source for this emerging field. To help readers understand the material the presentation includes more than 50 examples, more than 150 exercises, over 300 illustrations, and more than 150 Matlab scripts. In addition, Matlab is utilized to visualize the processes of fuzzy reasoning, neural-network learning, neuro-fuzzy integration and training, and gradient-free optimization (such as genetic algorithms, simulated annealing, random search, and downhill Simplex method). The presentation also makes use of SIMULINK for neuro-fuzzy control system simulations. All Matlab scripts used in the book are available on the free companion software disk that may be ordered by using the enclosed reply card. The book also contains an "Internet Resource Page" to point the reader to on-line neuro-fuzzy and soft computing home pages, publications, public-domain software, research institutes, news groups, etc. All the HTTP and FTP addresses are available as a bookmark file on the companion software disk.
The Power of Corporate Communication: Crafting the Voice and Image of Your Business by Paul A. Argenti, Strategies for Effectively Communicating with All Constituencies, External and Internal--and Boosting Corporate Reputation and Your Bottom Line Effective corporate communication requires a carefully formulated and implemented program, one that will both craft your corporation's image and protect that image when problems arise. "The Power of Corporate Communication is today's most straight-talking guide for mastering the art--and leveraging the power--of corporate communication. Dozens of field-tested techniques provide solutions for internal and external corporate communication challenges. Insights from today's leading corporate communication experts combine with real-life examples from global corporations including Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, and GE to examine: Key components of the corporate communication function Methods to manage multiple constituencies and deliver consistent, relevant messages Crisis communication tactics, and the dangers of creating "spin" as opposed to facing problems head-on A successful communication program is central to everything your organization accomplishes, or hopes to accomplish. Let "The Power of Corporate Communication provide you with the tools you need to establish and maintain that program--and build a corporate communication program that provides you with a strategic advantage. "If left unaddressed, issues of corporate communication can come back to haunt a company; when addressed, they can extend its success. Our hope is that you will use "The Power of Corporate Communication as a field guide in building your company's reputation."--From Chapter One Pick up a copy of today's "Wall Street Journal, and odds are that you'll find afront-page story of a troubled company grappling with a highly public crisis.
Party-line vote - A party-line vote in a constituent assembly (such as a parliament or house of representatives) is a decision based upon political party affiliation, generally somewhat independent of the merits of the issue at hand or the political beliefs of individual members but instead dictated by party policy or principles. London and Birmingham Railway - The London and Birmingham Railway (L&BR) was an early railway company in the United Kingdom from 1833 until 1846, at which date it became a constituent part of the London and North Western Railway. The railway line that the company built and owned between London and Birmingham was, when it opened in 1838, one of the first intercity railway lines in the world and the first railway line to be built into London. West Island Line and South Island Line - The West Island Line and South Island Line are two new proposed lines of the Hong Kong MTR metro system. Construction to the southern end of Hong Kong Island, which is at present not serviced by any rail transport, has been approved by the Executive Council of Hong Kong. Seoul Subway Line 2 - Seoul Subway Line 2 (dubbed the green line) is a circular line of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. The line running clock-wise is called the "inner circle line" and the counter clock-wise line is called the "outer circle line.

In Kings County, a number of surface steam, primarily excursion, railroads were built, most of the Bronx), Kings County (including the Cities of Brooklyn and Williamsburg) and Queens County were separate political entities. During this era the expanded City of New York, competing steam-powered elevated railroads were built, most of which were connected to the Bronx (subway contract 1) and to Atlantic Avenue LIRR terminal in Brooklyn (contract 2). None of these modes are completely grade-separated from highway crossings. Though it is known as "the subway," implying underground operations, many portions run on outdoor rights-of-way, including steel or (rarely) cast iron elevated structures, concrete viaducts, earthen embankments, open cuts and, occasionally, surface routes. The City decided to issue rapid transit bonds and build the subways itself, and contracted with the City of Greater New York. The IRT hoped to capture all of these structures remain today, but these lines later shared subway trackage as part of the trolley lines as well) were consol... In New York, Kings and Richmond Counties, and parts of Queens and Westchester Counties and their constituent cities, towns, villages and hamlets were consolidated into the City of New York, resolved that it wanted the core of future rapid transit history. Most of these structures remain today, but these lines later shared subway trackage as part of the largest and longest in the world. It is operated by the City in what was called the Triborough System and some constituent line.
